Launched on September 15 in the US, vDesk is the next-generation version of the company’s MojoPac, a friendly technology that allows the user to take his entire PC on any storage device.

When users start their vDesk workspace, it will isolate data from the physical infrastructure, transforming any PC into their own familiar and personalised workspace where users can access their files, applications, setting and entire desktop, just as if they were on their own PC. RingCube’s India centre at Hyderabad, which has a 25-member R&D team, has contributed roughly over 70 per cent in developing this product.

The closely-held company had raised $12 million (Rs 57.6 crore) venture capital fund from New Enterprise Associates and Mohr Davidow Ventures around 18 months ago. The funds were infused into developing vDesk.
