RCML appoints head of investment banking, India

Religare Capital Markets (RCML), the investment banking and institutional securities arm of Religare Enterprises has appointed Nalin Nayyar as the head of their investment banking operations in India.

Nayyar has joined RCML from Citigroup Global Markets. He was the managing director of the investment bank and responsible for handling industrial sectors such as mining, metals and capital goods.  Prior to Citibank, Nayyar worked with Lehman Brothers in India and London. His experience spans nineteen years of investment banking across US, Europe and Asia.

Nayyar will report to Tarun Kataria, CEO, RCML India and Sutha Kandiah, global head of the company's investment banking operations, based in Singapore.
 
Nayyar's appointment follows a string of high profile hirings at RCML. These include Rob Munro as the global COO, Nick Holtby as global head of equities, Rob Flynn as CEO of the Asia Region, Sutha Kandia as Global Head of Investment Banking and Tarun Kataria as CEO of RCML India.
 
Commenting on the appointment, Kataria said; “We are delighted to have Nalin join the team as the head of investment banking of our Indian businesses. The addition of Nalin to our team is a significant step in reaffirming our commitment to create a market leading emerging markets focused global investment banking and institutional securities business.”
