Haryana revises MLA salary

Haryana Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will now get Rs55,000 instead of the earlier pay ofRs35,500.

An announcement to this effect was made by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala in the the state Assembly today.

The pension admissible to ex-legislators has also been increased to over Rs20,000. The state legislators would now get Rs10, 000 as salary.

The monthly sumptuary allowance of legislators would be increased from Rs3,000 to Rs5,000, Constituency Allowance from Rs15, 000 to Rs20, 000, Office Allowance from Rs2,500 to Rs 5,000, Daily Allowance from Rs1,000 to Rs1,500 and Secretariat Allowance from Rs5,000 to Rs10,000.

The pension of the legislators has also been raised from Rs5,000 (plus Dearness Pension and Dearness allowance) to Rs7,500 (plus DP and DA).
