Haryana increases flood compensation

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced to increase the compensation for damage to tubewells and crops due to floods, that affected certain pockets of the state.

The Chief Minister said that now a compensation of Rs7,500 will be given for damage to tube wells instead of Rs5,000.

Also, there would be an increase of Rs500 per acre for damage to crops. He said in case of damage of 76 to 100 per cent to the crops, compensation would be given at a rate of Rs5,500 an acre instead of Rs5,000 and for damage ranging from 51 to 75 per cent, the amount of compensation would be Rs4,500 instead of Rs4,000. Similarly, in case of damage from 26 to 50 per cent, the amount of compensation would be Rs3,500 an acre instead of Rs3,000.

In the recent floods, 218, 190 acres of land suffered 76 to 100 per cent damages in the s tate.
