Chhattisgarh government will take up massive road expansion programme to establish better road connectivity in the state.
Under the Chhattisgarh State Road Development Project, the state government has taken up the programme to improve important roads districts, Chief Minister Raman Singh said here today.
"In the past one year, the state government has built 3,825 kilometre roads," Singh said, adding that the work was part of the plan to build up a massive road infrastructure in all the 18 districts.
The state built 17,323 kilometre roads state under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) that allowed nearly 8,000 residential clusters to get road access.
Singh said better road connectivity had provided good transportation to the people that had been top on the priority list of the government. Earlier, buses were plying on 117 routes, now it had increased 1870 routes, he added.
